After a long and rewarding career, I am now retired, but I continue to stay actively involved in supporting communities and causes that matter to me. My professional journey was primarily rooted in Sales and Marketing, where I spent the bulk of my career developing strategies, building relationships, and driving growth. This experience taught me the value of clear communication, teamwork, and creative problem-solving — skills that I now bring to my role as a Member of Primary Learning Trust.
My commitment to education and community development has been a constant thread throughout my life. I have served as a PTA member, School Governor, and Chair of Governors, where I worked closely with school leaders to support strategic development and ensure the best outcomes for pupils. These roles allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the educational landscape and the importance of strong, forward-thinking governance.
Beyond education, I have also been proud to serve as a Trustee for Headway, an organization dedicated to supporting people with acquired brain injuries. This role has given me insight into the power of advocacy, compassion, and perseverance when helping individuals and families face life-changing challenges.
My Story
I have been happily married for 46 years, and family has always been a central part of my life. Retirement has given me more time to spend with loved ones and to focus on the causes I’m passionate about. My professional background in Sales and Marketing, combined with my personal commitment to service, has shaped my approach as a Trustee — ensuring I am focused, strategic, and always guided by a desire to make a positive impact.
Whether supporting education, advocating for those with brain injuries, or simply spending quality time with family, I believe in giving my time and energy to things that truly matter. Retirement may have marked the end of my formal career, but it has certainly not marked the end of my dedication to making a difference.
